The film starts off with a really dodgy guy running through a dodgy place, looking like one of those space dudes from Star Trek (Wrath of Khan) who got the maggot thingy in his ear, although here there are no maggot scenes ;)
Quickly moving to earth (oh yeah; and before that you see a reflection of a T-Rex in the space dudes visor) the film centers a guy called Dr. Marshall (Will Ferrell), who loves cheesburgers filled with M&Ms and lives for Takeon energy (I hope thats the correct spelling) and he falls for a babe called Holly... Err; from Cambridge ;)
They take a ride together with this randy rocker in a rubber dingy all the way to the land of the lost! Well atleast a desert anyhow; with an abandoned viking ship...
On the travels, they come across a few weird monkeys that learn the power of fire, through the use of the rockers lighter.. One of them (who doubles as a battering ram) starts to talk and its like planet of the apes meets stargate SG1 - I say SG1, coz its real B!
I didn't really like this movie, but its not all bad; there are a few really funny parts and I am sure that Cher would have a chuckle... There is an element of The Dark Crystal meets the creature from the black lagoon; and we're talking bucket loads of lagoon-type monsters, but its all in jest!
Marshall covers himself in urine, which is pretty disgusting and this red T-Rex explodes... Mmm has to be seen... There is a giant crab, although I think that this was the result of a narcotic experience; oh and the first T-Rex teams up with Marshall after eating him and pooing him out (definitely helping their bonding experience) and helps him destroy all the lagoon monsters lol...
Not a bad film even if it wasn't to my tastes - I give it 7 out of 10
